We have very exciting news to share! WE HAVE OPENED OUR THIRD HOPE HOUSE!!! Thanks to our partners at Moran Park Church, a family of three now has a stable home and a new start. We are thrilled!!!
Here’s the Hope Homes model: For the first 6 months, the tenants will pay for utilities and below-market rent. After the first 6 months, rent gradually increases until the family is paying current market rent by month 12. The goal is that they are sustainable after their stay in Hope Homes. In addition, they have the option to put money into a savings account that is matched up to $50 every month. If they choose to do this, they could have enough money for a security deposit and the first month’s rent at the end of their time with Hope Homes.
The whole time a family lives in a Hope House, they continue meeting with their Life Skills coach. Each Hope Home family has also had members from our church partners wrap around them. This gives our families a community of people willing to do life with them and reminds them that they are not alone. This is something that we know is vital to success. In only 7 months, we have opened three Hope Homes. God has been doing “more than we could ask for or imagine” (Eph. 3:20) and we know this is only the beginning.
