Doors of Hope: Support

Make a Door of Hope where there is none.

Imagine waking up one morning and everything you own is gone.

Imagine living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to pay for food. Imagine the hopelessness and panic of missing the rent payment that leads to eviction and homelessness.

Doors of Hope serves people in West Michigan who face these challenges each day. Their wheels are turning but never gaining traction. They’re exhausted and overwhelmed.

Doors of Hope has been helping people through financial hurts, struggles and crisis since 2007. We’ve journeyed alongside hundreds of people in the life-changing process of learning to manage financial resources, restore dignity, and build a future for themselves.

Every donated dollar brings hope to those who are working to build a better tomorrow.

Ministry Stories

John was connected to Doors of Hope by his mentor after he was hit by car.  He had no income and was waiting for his short-term disability payment to kick in.  His bills were piling up, and he needed help.  Doors of Hope was able to help pay his rent and bring food to him.  We also were able to connect him to local agencies that paid his utilities.

Currently, John continues to heal from his accident.  His disability support has kicked in.  He is so grateful for the help that we were able to give him.

“For I was hungry and you fed me…. I was sick and you cared for me.”

– Matthew 25:35-36

Beth came to Doors of Hope after experiencing some incredibly painful life events.  She didn’t even know where to begin to start putting her life back together.  She was drowning in debt and involved in some very destructive relationships. After working with her life skills coach at Doors of Hope for several months, she has made fantastic progress.  She has increased her income and paid off all her credit card debt.  She also has severed unhealthy relationships and moved into a new home that is much better for her children.  We celebrate the progress that Beth has worked so hard to make.

“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.”

– Romans 12:15
